Social Development department reiterates dedication to strengthening SASSA financial support

Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her support and commitment to improving South African Social Security Company (SASSA) companies throughout an engagement along with the agency's senior managers in a strategic setting up session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the numerous social grant beneficiaries, who excelled in the 2024 matric exams.
Of the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% from the registered pupils in the schooling sector.
These learners achieved a commendable pass rate of 86%.
